How many of us have done this before, Used God as an expensive piece of cloth that that we wear to gain people’s attention, so that we may self-glorify ourselves and take everything away from God, so we may have that one moment of Glory? I know I have many times. Church let’s not be like the Pharisees who did everything in public to gain self-glory in Jesus name.
When your relationship with Christ is intimate in your private life, it will also reflect in your public life. Sometimes we get to a point when the preacher says, lift your hands, give him praise, shout his name and we do all this things, but there’s a point when I have gone beyond the veil …where my worship is for real …a point where I need no instructions from the worship leader to know how to bring my King and savior true praise.
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."-John 4:23 & 24
Reject Self-glory, allow God to receive all the praise and stand behind him, not next to Him or in front of Him. He didn’t need our help from the start and he does not need it now. All you need to do is stand firm in faith. Don’t worship God as a performance to give "your audience" a show, worship Him because what He has already done for you. Take one good look at yourself and recognize that even with all your foolishness and sin’s, He took one good look at you and said, “You’re still worth dying for”
…Well guys, next time you’re in worship and the girl you like is right there watching you, One, do it for the lord, and two, tell her to focus on the BIGGER picture, not you and Three, if you’re watching her and she’s watching you, maybe you guys should go get to know each other.
Disclaimer: Men, sometimes we only think that she is watching us. But you’re the creepy guy that’s always staring at her during worship and the study, not realizing that every time service is done, she tell her friends about the creepy guys always staring. AMEN! Amen.
